The V-Cube 3 is quite a bad cube for me. It can corner cut, but nothing more than 30 degrees. It's an overly expensive cube at €15.00, that can't even compare with the cheapest budget cubes out there. It has been updated numerous times and yet still doesn't have florian cuts. However, it never pops or corner twists. I do not recommend this cube to anyone, as there are cubes at 1/6th of it's price that are way better in all aspects. However, if you want to buy this cube, do NOT buy the pillowed version. It's straight up bad and not a speedcube. (If my review comes out as harsh to you, it's not to defame the V-Cube company as it's larger cubes were and are revolutionary.)

It's a great cube overall! It can almost make 180° turns with one flick, and is very finger-trickable. It is also very fast. Lockups, corner twists, and popping have NEVER happened to me. Its only downfall is the corner cutting, which is still okay. It can corner cut almost 2 pieces forward, but has ZERO reverse corner-cutting. Overall, I would rate this as a 5 star cube, and by far the best in my collection. This is also great for people who only currently have a Rubik's brand.

First of all, I would like to say that the V-Cube 3 is my only cube. I have nothing to compare it with. Also, my average is only sub-40, so I'm only an amateur speed cuber, though I am looking to improve.
The V-Cube 3 has smooth and somewhat fast turning, though I don't have anything to compare its speed to. It's very smooth and buttery, but I can't flick any face past 100°. Its corner cutting is minimal. With extreme force I can corner cut 25° forward and <5° reverse. I do feel as if the terrible corner cutting is impacting my times. The bad corner cutting also causes it to lock up a lot, which is extremely frustrating when I am timing myself and the cube locks up.
I haven't lubed or tensioned it because it turned very smoothly out of the box. Other people have said that lubing this cube makes it much worse. Also, I can't take off the center caps. However, the corners never twist and it has never popped once.
On another note, the stickers peel very quickly. By 500 solves the clear plastic on each sticker will be either peeling tremendously or already gone and the stickers themselves will have corners and such sticking up and peeling, which is extremely annoying.
Overall, I don't think the V-Cube is cut out for speed cubing. Its corner cutting is terrible and it locks up too much. If you want a real speed cube, don't buy the V-Cube 3.

The V-Cube 3 is leaps and bounds beyond the stickered Rubiks (which is what I had before). It is much faster and catches a bit less, but other than that it was not made for speed cubing... or at least compete with the speedcubes out today. If you want a cool looking cube for someone starting out this is definitely a good buy. If you are looking for the latest and greatest speedcube you might be disappointed.
