It's ok. The 4x4 is really smooth and loud. It corner cuts ok but reverse cut bad thats where lock ups come in. This is really cheap and good for a beginer getting into 4x4 this was my first 4x4 but i sometimes popped and was a pain to put together. The inner layers are bad and the only way to make it better is to mod it with the content mod or florien. Overall it's ok and locks up but if you have a budget get the yusu or yuxin if not get the aosu. This cube needs work for it to be good.

This cube was pretty descent out of the box, but after breaking in and lubing, it is the most smoothest 4x4 cube I ever felt. The speed is fast, and controllable, and corner cutting is good too. The only downside is that, it locks up often, and pops sometimes too. I would recommend to people who are just starting 4x4, because it is a descent, and cheap cube.

this was my first 4x4 speed cube. it has stickers around it with poor quality. the build is quite sturdy and bulky. the sound is quite crisp and the turning is smooth. it is priced about $5 and is a reasonably good cube for its cost. it is a good cube for intermediate solvers and slow learners. I would recommend it if you are patient and don't mind locking up at small times. locking up reduces significantly after about 500 solves.

The Shengshou 4x4 is great for its price. The cube's outer layers are smooth and fast, but its inner layers may be a bit locky. Generally, it is smooth but also locky. It may be improved slightly with a bit of modding, but locking still exists.
Locking happens mostly internally, but it is a decent cube for its price, it is still good but newer 4x4s and moyus are definitely better than the shengshou.

Review for version 3
As an older cube it is not the best at anything but performs fine. It's biggest flaw is locking. It can cause problems when performing algs but you can get used it. As is is an older cube you can pick it up very cheap and is a decent starter 4x4.

I had a few of these cubes. They all were exactly the same. They had the smoothness you would expect from Shengshou, but also the locking. I tried modding the pieces, but I was afraid of doing it too much and ruining the puzzle. For a first 4x4 this is great, but compared to the MoYu and Yuxin ones this can no longer compete.

Review for Version 4
At first the cube didnt want to cornercut over 25-or so degrees and popped often when done so. The internal mechanism was really vulnerable for getting out of alignment. Out of the box the adjustments were off and after intense modding (konsta + florian) and completely setting it up im still dissatisfied. After playing with it it has gotten better, but its nowhere near the quality of the latest 4x4's.
